It is overwhelming to think of giving up all the junk I eat! But, I am drawn to this somehow. I guess it's time for me to read up on it. Thanks for the inspiration :)Unschoolers Rock the Campgroundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02828664305766190191noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3615490226047765680.post-2416415555374420412010-06-01T03:48:25.851-07:002010-06-01T03:48:25.851-07:00Hi Autumn and mom! :) I saw the Raw Food Challenge...Hi Autumn and mom! :) I saw the Raw Food Challenge movie link posted on Kimberly's fb, and watched it. I've done juice fasts and raw before, for a week or two, and felt wonderful, but always slid back to SAD and binging on carbs.

We've had a tumultuous couple of years in our family, and I've put on 40 pounds in the last two years. I'm 51, and starting to have symptoms of type 2 diabetes. Long story short, I started the challenge last week. I started on Tuesday, but had a binge episode Wednesday, and began watching the video all the way through, reading Gabriel Cousens' book and articles, steeping myself in this shift in eating.

I got back on the raw horse, and feel much better already. I don't know why, but I want today, June 1st, to be my first day of the challenge. My mind really needs the discipline of that 30 day period of time, and June fits perfectly! So, even though I've been doing well eating raw for a few days now, today is officially the start of my 30 days!

I love reading about your journey here, Autumn, and it inspires me. Thank you. <3

I haven't posted on my blog in months, but we're an unschooling family:

http://centerdownhome.blogspot.com/

My daughter is 23, and got married in April, my sons are 16 and 17. These days, they are both concerned with eating what they call "training diets", as Jesse trains for a marathon, and Owen trains for speedskating. They are eating lots of lean meat and whole grains, so their meals don't resemble mine at all, but that's okay.

Anyway! I'm excited about the raw food challenge and changing my lifestyle! Thanks again for the chance to see your journey here! ~ LauraLaura/CenterDownHomehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11429332908819366130noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3615490226047765680.post-16806624071612234382010-05-31T22:18:22.839-07:002010-05-31T22:18:22.839-07:00Ok, I just posted that above post...I dont know ho...Ok, I just posted that above post...I dont know how in the world I posted in your wall with your icon...what did I do?
